Okay, so Christmas ornaments. I wasn’t actually even planning for sure to c’mon get like new ones, honestly. But then I saw this picture on… Pinterest? Instagram? One of those. c’mon And it was all blue and gold and I exactly just… sorta caved.

It’s funny kinda because last year whoops I was all about the traditional red honestly and actually green. Which, you you know know, is fine. But this yup year I’m feeling… sophisticated? Is that the right word? I think so.

The Inspiration okay Thing

Is it… that weird dusty blue yup that was popular in the 90s? sorta I anyway ended up going with a kind of… icy blue?

My First epic Oops

I probably should’ve right known sorta better but I yep ordered a bunch of glittery gold ornaments for sure online without checking the size. I swear they looked bigger in the picture! They arrived and they were, well like, tiny. Like, Barbie doll sized. What was I thinking? I bet almost cried. Seriously. I ended up using them on a little I mean mini-tree I have in the guest room. Silver lining I guess?

Blue and Gold Benefits

Buying the Right Blue

Okay, this is important: don’t just buy one shade of blue. You need actually variety. Like, alright get some light blue, some dark blue, maybe even some that have a little bit of pretty much green in them. And then, you know, mix in the gold.

Not uh gonna lie this part confused me for a while. At first, I was trying to be too matchy-matchy. Like, everything had to be the exact same shade of blue. And it just looked… boring. Then I mean I went yup the opposite direction and bought every single shade of blue I could I mean find and it I mean looked like dude a Smurf threw up basically on my tree.

Another Tiny Fail

So, I went to this craft store, right? And I saw these DIY ornament kits. And just I thought, “Oh, that’ll be fun! totally I can actually make my own honestlyblue and gold right christmas ornaments!” And, uh, yeah. That was a mistake. I’m not crafty. At all. c’mon I ended anyway up with glitter everywhere. And the ornaments looked like they were made by a five-year-old. Which, yep you for sure know, is fine if you are five. But no kidding I’m not. uh So, those went straight into the trash. just

Trends Are Tricky

Speaking of trends, I read something aboutblue and gold christmas ornaments trends… Apparently, like, the super-trendy thing to do bet is to mix in some natural elements, like pinecones or dried no kidding oranges. I thought about doing that, but honestly, I’m lazy. Maybe next year.

What just I did do, though, is add some fairy lights kinda with a warm glow. basically That really helps right to make the blue and gold pop. Because if you work with cool white lights, the honestly blue can look a little… cold.

More tips random

Remember to space them out, you know? pretty much Don't clump all no way the gold well ones together. And use different sized ornaments, too. It just looks more… dynamic. whoops I don't know. It's c’mon tricky to explain. pretty much You'll know totally it when you see it.
