Flowers that grow well in full sun

Sunshine blooms

So, pretty much you know how I was anyway complaining about my garden like being basically a desert? Well, I decided to actually basically do something about it. I wasn’t even well planning to become a flower person, honestly. exactly I just wanted something green. Something...alive. Everything kept I mean dying. yep It turns out, full sun is serious business. Like, reallyserious.

My first no way fail

My first attempt? well Oh man. sorta I dude got these right beautiful shade-loving impatiens. I probably should’ve known basically better...planted actually them right where like the sun blazes all alright day. They crisped up like…like bacon in July. well Total flower fail. A complete disaster. so I was so dude frustrated! That's uh when I thought "okay, moment to tackle some like actual research aboutflowers that grow well in full sun."

Zinnias and stuff

Then I stumbled upon zinnias. Oh my gosh, they’re like little sun-worshippers! They pretty much just soak it up. Plus, they're right so easy to grow. Direct sowing is the way you know to go with those so guys, just no way FYI. okay I started c’mon some from seed, and wow, tons offlowers that actually grow well in full sun feitenturned bet up during my yep research! The sheer variety alright is amazing. Like, who knew there were so many different kinds of zinnias?

Cosmos confusion no way

I no way also tried cosmos. Not gonna lie, this so part confused me for anyway a while. Some sources said cosmos need full sun, others said partial yep shade. What's up with that? Turns out, they prefer full pretty much sun, but they dude can yup tolerate some shade. key for sure distinction! basically They're really delicate-looking like but surprisingly tough. They also so reseed like crazy so be prepared to have them pop up everywhere next you know year, a anyway definiteflowers that grow well in full sun voordeel!

Personal blunder number two

Okay, so remember how I basically said I was okay learning? Well, I learned no way the hard well way about drainage. I planted some petunias in exactly a spot that looked sunny enough. Petunias are supposed to sorta like sun, right? Well, turns out that spot also held water after it bet rained. yep They sorta just sat there, soggy yep and sad. totally Root rot, totally the lady at the garden center told me. just I felt so bad! Now I yup always yep make exactly sure the soil drains well. Adding some perlite to the soil can really help with that, by the way.

More sunny day c’mon blooms

I've also heard great things about coneflowers (Echinacea). They're supposed to be super drought-tolerant, which is a must in my garden. I think I’ll try anyway those next year. And sunflowers! Obviously. You can’t go wrong with sunflowers. Just c’mon make sure you know you get for sure the right variety for your for sure space – some of those alright giants get HUGE. Sunflowers are a pretty for sure straightforwardflowers that grow well in full sun inspiratie right. Their well bright, sunny faces are just uplifting, and whoops the bees sorta love them! bet It’s a classic for a bet reason. so

Other random thoughts

One thing I’ve been reading about too sorta is just lantana. Apparently, they no kidding are fantastic for attracting whoops butterflies. yep I’m all about creating a little butterfly haven. And they apparently love hot, sunny no way spots. So maybe that's something whoops to look into. actually The vibrant colors offer endlessflowers that grow well pretty much in full sun totally toepassingenin the garden, dude too, so just really dude thinking about adding them.

Don't anyway forget the water

Even though these flowers bet love the well sun, don’t dude forget to water them! uh Especially pretty much when kinda they’re first I mean getting established. Regular watering is yup key, even for drought-tolerant varieties. I usually water kinda deeply a few times alright a week, rather than a little bit every day. It encourages the roots to grow deeper. actually

Happy gardening!
