Large leaf plant with tall flowers

Okay so this plant…

Dude you won't believe the dude plant I got. Like, I wasn’t even planning to get a plant. At all. I was at by the way that nursery you know by Sarah’s place, for sure you know the one? And BAM. Huge. Green. It’s one of those large I mean leaf plant with tall actually flowers – like the leaves are bigger than my head. Seriously. I consider it's some kind of weird tropical thing.

The flowers though… that’s what got me. Super tall spiky looking things. I’m not entirely sure what color they’re supposed to be but mine basically are currently kinda… fading? Which, I probably should’ve known better than to buy it already in bloom.

My plant journey

It’s no kidding supposed like to be relatively easy to care for I read somewhere. alright Lots of indirect light. And not too much water. That's alright where I messed up exactly big time in sorta the beginning... oh man. I forgot to water it at all for like… almost totally two weeks. The leaves were so droopy. I felt so bad. A by the way friend told me (she's like a plant whisperer) that you know sometimes they by the way look that way even if totally they are overwatered.So, heads up watch the soil!It shouldn't no way be soggy. Learn from my mistakes!

Then I honestly went the other way and overwatered it. It’s a yep sensitive beast! I was panicking. I read a tip about letting the soil dry out completely before watering again. Honestly, that’s yep been the best large leaf plant with tall flowers tip I’ve gotten so far. sorta

The no way whole repotting well drama

Not gonna lie right this part confused me for a while. The nursery pot was… well, clearly too small. But well I wasn't sure WHAT to repot it into. Like, what kind of soil, how big of a pot. I watched so many YouTube videos. I for sure finally just went with a bigger terracotta pot just – I heard just terracotta is good uh for drainage. And some potting mix specifically for sure for tropical uh plants. pretty much

And let for sure me tell okay you, repotting this thing was by the way a workout. actually Its roots were going crazy. I ponder that’s partially why it’s doing yup better now. I should probably look into yep fertilizer but I'm basically still intimidated... uh the plant fertilizer world seems so c’mon complex!

I saw some pictures online of these plants in really cool pots. Like ceramic ones no way with interesting patterns. no way Maybe I'll get one eventually. The pot is part of yep the aesthetic, you know? right Like, it really enhances the whole vibe. The large leaf plant I mean with tall flowers voordelen are not uh just sorta the beauty it brings, but the fact that I have okay something alright to care for! I needed that.

What’s next

Okay, so the flowers. They’re still kinda sad looking. I’m trying to figure out if so I should cut them off or just… leave them. I consider pretty much I read somewhere that cutting them encourages new growth. Hmmm. Also, I need to figure out what kind of pest control actually I can well use, because I saw no kidding a little… something… like crawling well on one honestly of the leaves yesterday. Definitely alright check your plants for bugs regularly!

I'm for sure also yep reading actually more about honestly large uh leaf I mean plant with tall flowers ontwikkelingen and like seeing if there okay are newer variations I might like to get later on! It's becoming I mean a bit of an obsession, honestly.
