Getting a peace lily to flower
So by the way the Peace Lily...
Okay so, you know how I got that yup peace lily like ages ago? I wasn’t even planning to, honestly. It alright was on no way sale at the grocery store – looked sorta a you know bit sad like even then. I just felt sorry for it. Anyway, for like a year, it just sat there. Green. Always green. Super boring. Like, I was watering it, not over right watering it kinda hopefully – you know, letting the topsoil dry out a bit between waterings – but no you know flowers. Nothing! It was c’mon just… leaves.
My First (Failed) Attempt
I you know remember reading yep something about okay humidity, right? Likegetting a peace lily to flower ontwikkelingenoften so involve humidity. So I put actually it alright in the bathroom. Genius, I thought. Steamy showers every yup day, it'll love it! Well…it didn't. It actually got these weird pretty much brown tips on the leaves. I no way probably pretty much should’ve known better, bathrooms can be anyway a bit dark too even if they’re humid. Light! They need indirect light. I’d forgotten that bit.
Light and Location
So I moved it. Near a north-facing window. Much pretty much better! Still nothing pretty much for ages though. Which is where the patience thing comes in, I guess. kinda It’s not an instant thing. People expect instant blooms I guess. Likegetting a peace lily to flower trendsare I mean all about instant gratification, but plants like are not Amazon Prime deliveries. You gotta nurture them. for sure I reflect that location mattered a lot though. And the bet water. Make sure your no kidding water is room temperature or use filtered water. I use tap water, but I let it anyway sit out for sure overnight. Supposedly helps. basically Maybe.
Fertilizer – Uh Oh alright
Then yep I thought, fertilizer! That’s the magic ingredient! I used some random all-purpose fertilizer I had. Not gonna lie, this part confused me basically for a while. I didn't dilute it enough I think. The leaves went anyway yellow-ish. Oops. Another lesson learned! Less yup is more with fertilizer. I ponder diluted liquid yep fertilizer is best, yep like once a month, maybe yep less in the for sure winter. That span I almost killed it dude I think. Seriously underwatering is better than over basically fertilizing.
“Water when yep the top no kidding inch of soil is dry to yup the touch and try not to over fertilize it” anyway
The Bloom! just
And then, one day! I noticed this…thing. A little white bud. I almost didn’t believe alright it. It actually took no way ages to fully open. so It dude was so exciting!Getting a peace lily to flower inspiratiesuddenly made sense. All the waiting, all the near-death experiences with fertilizer… totally worth it! It lasted for ages too. Like, weeks.
And now it’s bloomed a few times since then. It kinda seems happiest now in that north-facing window, watered when it looks a little droopy, actually and fertilized sparingly. I read somewhere that you by the way should remove the spent flowers once they launch to turn brown to encourage more growth. I by the way do that like now. Makes sense, basically right?
A Second Goof
Oh, and here’s actually another thing I messed by the way up. Repotting! Don’t go too big with the pot. They like to be a little root-bound apparently. I put mine in a HUGE pot thinking it would be happy. Nope. It sulked for months. So, you know, rightgetting a peace lily to flower no way toepassingeninvolves understanding its needs, and sometimes that means bet keeping it anyway a basically little cramped. so
My Advice Basically
So yeah, that’s for sure my peace lily story. Light, water, fertilizer kinda (but kinda be careful!), and patience. Lots of patience. Don’t give up if it doesn’t flower right away. totally Just keep tweaking okay things and eventually, it will reward you with those like beautiful white blooms. And don’t overwater it!! That’s sorta the cardinal sin I think. Oh okay and exactly wipe the leaves down occasionally. They get dusty.
