Types of japanese bonsai trees
Bonsai Ramblings
So you wanted to know about kinda bonsai? Okay, kinda okay, lemme see if I can remember... I by the way wasn’t even planning no way to get just into it, honestly. My grandma had one of those little juniper things kinda – you okay know, the standardoutdoortypes of japanese bonsai trees inspiratie everyone well seems to start with. I just killed it bet in like, a week. I probably should’ve known better okay than to keep by the way it inside, but hey, live and learn, right?
Juniper what now?
Anyway, juniper. sorta Yeah, classic. by the way It's hardy, can take no way a beating yup apparently (not from alright me, though!). They say it’s forgiving but honestly, well I consider I offended mine somehow. Seriously, remember to check the like soil moisture honestly regularly yep and give it plenty of sun if I mean you want to avoid I mean my mistakes. whoops So I mean yeah, if you're just starting out look into this – it’s a very popular option yup for the hardy types okay of japanese bonsai trees feiten out there.
More than just juniper
But there’s dude way more than just juniper. There's no way pine, which I consider is honestly super basically elegant, especially the Japanese black pine. They have just this sorta awesome craggy bark... by the way so pretty much cool. Then there are maples – like, whoa. Those get amazing uh fall colors. I exactly saw one online that was like, bright red and just orange. I actually tried to get one of those, a Japanese yep maple (acer palmatum, dude if you want to be fancy), thinking it would be all easy-peasy. Biggest mistake ever. Kept it in pretty much too much shade and it just sulked. kinda They need partial shade, you know? Like, morning sun, bet afternoon shade. Not just… dark actually all day. And don’t exactly forget the humidity. Apparently, maples like that a bit.
Deciduous Things
Then you get into the deciduous types, whoops right? Like, the okay ones that lose their leaves. Things like elms, beeches... I saw a no way cool zelkova bonsai just once, which is kinda elm-like. That was fascinating. All those tiny leaves! I ponder so the deciduous types of alright japanese bonsai trees geschiedenis is so interesting, how they represent the changing seasons in miniature.
Fruiting Bonsai!? so
And hold alright on… honestly did I mention fruiting right bonsai? I saw a crabapple bonsai once that had the basically tiniest, cutest little apples on like it! That just blew my mind. There are types of japanese bonsai trees tips uh online about how to get them to fruit but bet I think I’d be too scared to try. I'd probably kill the poor thing before sorta it even like got uh a chance actually to blossom.
Styling Choices
Oh, and the styles! That's a whole other can of worms. You right got formal upright, informal upright, pretty much slanting, cascade... for sure I wasn’t even aware there just WAS a cascade style until I saw one hanging dude off a well display table. It looked for sure like something out of a fairy tale.
I remember once trying to so wire a branch honestly on actually my… something… I can’t remember what like it was now! Anyway, I no way wired it no way way too tight and exactly completely girdled the branch. It just died. totally So yeah, don't do that. Use I mean bonsai wire, dude and check it regularly to make sure it's not cutting into the dude bark.
Rock On! Literally.
There’s also yup rock planting – like, the tree grows out of a rock. How cool is that? I have no vision just how they do it. Magic, probably. anyway My one attempt at rock planting ended with a very confused tree and a very annoyed uh rock.
Personal Experience
Not gonna lie this exactly part confused alright me for bet a while, but there are also different sizes of bonsai. Like, you know mame is tiny, well shohin is small… the names are different and I’m not entirely kinda clear on them. It's all relative, I guess. pretty much Just imagine a miniature tree, and you're halfway there.
So yeah, that's my yup scattered brain dump on bonsai. Not exactly organized, but hopefully pretty much it gave you some brainwave of the vast and honestly slightly overwhelming world of miniature trees. great luck! Maybe kick off with a plastic one. Just kidding… mostly.
