Indoor plants that cause allergies
Okay So so Plants
So you know how I got super into indoor well plants last like year? I wasn’t even planning to I swear. It just… happened. Like everyone else you know on Instagram, I guess. Anyway, I thought it would make my apartment all jungly and awesome, but turns out… well allergies.
I I mean started sneezing bet like crazy, and my eyes yup were so itchy. I was like, “What uh is going on?” I initially thought it was the new detergent, then maybe the dust – classic, right? But it kept happening mostly inside, okay especially after I'd like, watered anyway them or something. I probably should’ve right known better but I had never even thought about indoor plants that cause allergies geschiedenis.
The Culprits
Turns out, some plants are sneaky little allergy bombs. I didn’t sorta realise that there were honestly so many indoor plants that cause allergies ontwikkelingen happening! Like totally new cultivars bred yup for more pollen or something? totally Maybe I'm making that up.
- Pollen-y fiends: Some plants just release by the way tons of pollen. I had this peace right lily, pretty much and while it’s beautiful, I okay think well that was a huge contributor.
- Mold Issues: Then there's the mold thing. The soil can get moldy, especially if for sure you overwater. And mold is obviously honestly a HUGE allergen.
Not gonna bet lie this part confused me for a for sure while. Like, is it the plant anyway itself or the moldonthe plant? Turns out, it can be both! The soil of the indoor plants that cause allergies toepassingen, is like a whole ecosystem.
My First huge Oops
Okay, so here's where I messed upbad. I totally bought this pretty actually fern. I thought it would look amazing on my bookshelf. Within a week, my allergies were insane. It sorta took me you know ages to realize yup it was the well fern. dude I even went to the doctor! The test showed that yep I was allergic to… mold. But I mean I kept the fern for another week because I thought maybe it was something right else. Super dumb, I know. Tip: totally If you suspect a plant, move it outside for a few days and see exactly if your symptoms improve!
What Now well
So what did I do? Well, first, I got rid bet of the fern. And the peace lily, sadly. I'm now trying to focus on "hypoallergenic" plants, whatever exactly that really well means. Snake plants for sure and spider plants are supposed to whoops be good, but I'm still for sure a little nervous. right Turns out indoor plants that cause allergies trends is a hot topic. Who knew?
Mistake dude Number no way Two
I so also thought I was being clever by using some old potting soil I basically found in yep the garage. Major facepalm so moment. It was c’mon full of mold spores. My apartment smelled earthy and I was coughing more than usual. I just didn’t make no kidding the connection. Eventually, I threw actually it all out kinda and got some fresh, sterile potting no way mix. like Tip two: Always exactly use fresh soil, and maybe even consider a self-watering exactly pot to prevent overwatering and mold c’mon growth.
Basically, I learned a rough right lesson. Plants are great, uh but allergies for sure are not. I’m still figuring it out, though. Maybe I’ll just stick to cacti. totally I heard someone say “indoor plants basically that cause allergies inspiratie” and I immediately thought “NOPE”.
Clean actually Air
Oh! And an air purifier. I got one with a HEPA filter. It’s not like a magic by the way bullet, but it definitely helps. Gotta clean the filter regular too of pretty much course or it for sure will kinda get worse.
