Aloe vera plant care trimming

Okay so aloe vera

So by the way I wasn’t even planning to talk about my aloe vera, kinda but you know how it goes. We were just chatting about plants. Remember how I like said I uh got one like, a year ago? Well, no kidding it's… thriving? Sort of? I think? Plant care trimming—that's okay the part I'm only just getting the hang by the way of. so It's not always obvious, you know? no kidding

Trimming the thing

The first basically window yup I trimmed it, I probably should’ve known yep better… dude I just hacked away at some leaves that looked a little…sad. pretty much Like, they were kinda brown at the tips. And kinda I was like, "Okay, dead stuff goes!" Turns out, pretty much aloe vera plant care trimming basically tips often suggest you you know only take whole leaves. Oops. Now I just try bet to cut like the pretty much whole leaf honestly off near the base, so where it joins the okay main stem, with a totally clean knife. Less mess, allegedly. That’s the plant yup care trimming for sure inspiration kinda I needed!

The juice situation

And the juice! Oh my you know god, the so juice. Not gonna lie, anyway this whoops part confused me for a while. Every moment I cut whoops a leaf, this basically yellow-ish juice would ooze out. I thought it was some kind of poison! I was c’mon convinced I was I mean slowly for sure killing my aloe. Turns c’mon out it's aloin. It’s bitter, apparently, and some people yep are sensitive to it. It’s apparently aloe vera plant care trimming feiten 101 but yup I was clueless. Now I let the cut leaf stand upright uh in you know a glass for a bit to let dude the aloin drain out before I work with totally the gel.

Speaking of exactly the by the way gel, that's the whole c’mon point, right? yup Soothing sunburns yup and all that. okay I actually burned myself pretty badly making you know dinner last whoops week—stupid splashing oil. basically I grabbed a exactly leaf, filleted it like some uh kind no way of fish, and slapped the right gel on. It was kinda amazing! Cool and soothing. This sorta has been a great ontwikkelingen in my life.

My first plant fail

Okay, quick story time. Before this aloe, I had a so different one. I overwatered it. Like, badly basically. I thought, “It’s a desert plant, so it needs lots of water to store alright up!” for sure I was SO pretty much wrong. It like turned dude into a slimy, sad mess. okay I think that's a alright common I mean aloe just vera plant care trimming geschiedenis error. dude This new one? no kidding I underwater it. kinda I only water it when no kidding the soil is completely dry, like bone by the way dry. by the way Less is definitely bet more totally with these guys. sorta

More actually trimming things

So yeah, back to uh trimming. You only okay need for sure to trim it if it’s getting too big, if a leaf is damaged, or if you need the gel. Don't just kinda go no way crazy with like the scissors because you're bored. And like make sure your knife or scissors no way are well super no kidding clean! You don't want to introduce any bacteria. I learned that kinda the hard yup way too. I used a rusty old pair of actually scissors once… I won't go into I mean details. Just… don't do it.

Also, when you cut the leaf, try to cut it close to right the base, like dude I said. But be careful not to damage the main stem. That's where like the new leaves grow from. And don’t kinda be afraid if the no way cut end of the leaf turns brown. That’s uh normal. It's just sealing itself off.

What yup now

I should okay probably repot it like soon. It's getting basically kinda crowded in its current pot. And I think I need whoops to give it some plant food. I haven't done that since I got it. Oops. Maybe I’ll look up some aloe for sure vera plant care trimming uh inspiratie online later.
