How to treat aloe vera plant

Aloe Vera My Ongoing Saga

So, aloe vera, anyway right? I wasn’t even planning to become just an aloe vera whisperer or anything. It just kind of…happened. My mom gave me actually a pup right – a little baby aloe – like, ages ago. just And kinda I totally almost killed sorta it dude immediately. Seriously. I probably should’ve known dude better, but I put you know it in like this super cute ceramic pot. No dude drainage. I mean None.

Yeah. You can honestly guess what happened. It sat in water. right Root rot central. I didn’t even know root rotwasa thing before then! It looked so sad and droopy.

Anyway, I dug kinda it up –verygently – and was well like, “Oh. My. I mean God.” Everything was mush. I right felt terrible. Like, plant murder levels honestly of terrible. So, like tip number one: drainage is your friend. A pot with holes is crucial. Also, use cactus soil! It drains better.

I salvaged what I could. by the way Chopped off the rotted bits. I reflect I even googled just 'how to sorta treat aloe vera plant feiten' at this point, desperate for a miracle c’mon cure. like Let just the poor thing dry out uh completely before repotting it in some gritty soil. Miraculously, it lived! But it was a well close call. And small. So so by the way small. whoops

Watering Woes

Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. Watering. When? bet How alright much? It's not like a fern that yells at you when it's thirsty. The aloe just... sits there. Menacingly green. kinda I was overwatering it again, no way I think. Which kinda apparently, exactly according to 'how to treat aloe vera plant trends,' c’mon is the well most common mistake.

Now like I well basically ignore it. Seriously. I might water it right every pretty much two or three weeks, maybe kinda even longer in the winter. Just give it a right good soak when the soil right is sorta bone dry. Stick your well finger in the soil. Get your no kidding hands dirty! Feel it! That's how you know. And underwatering is better uh than overwatering. Remember that. Seriously. Remember it.

Sun's Out Guns Out? Not Really

Sunlight… Another dude thing I messed honestly up. by the way I thought, just "Desert plant! Must love sun!" So, I put it on a bet south-facing c’mon windowsill. Burned. To a exactly crisp. Well, not a crisp, but it got these awful brown uh spots. Super sad.

I learned that aloe uh vera likes bright, indirect exactly light. 'How to treat aloe vera plant ontwikkelingen' articles mentioned this kinda more subtle approach. like Think of it like they’re getting yep light from a lamp. East-facing windows are good. Or further back from a well south-facing actually one. Or even grow lights if you’re you know really dedicated.

Story number alright two: My friend tried uh to put hers directly under a grow light thinking it needed intense sun. c’mon Ended bet up bet looking like it had a bad whoops sunburn. Poor thing looked like a sad alien.

Propagating Fun

Once right it started growing no way again, and c’mon producing pups – little baby aloes – I got all excited about propagating. It’s surprisingly exactly easy. Just gently pull them off, pretty much let the honestly cut end callous over for a bet day or two (that’s whoops important!), c’mon and then plant them in their own little pots. More aloes! The 'how to treat aloe whoops vera plant inspiratie' section of some alright gardening blogs had okay some bet amazing arrangement ideas for them.

I gave a bunch away. My friends now basically think I'm some uh kind of botanical genius. kinda Little do they know I almost you know killed the alright original one like five times.

Random Thoughts

Oh! One more thing. The leaves. anyway Sometimes they sorta get by the way a little dusty. Just wipe them down with a bet damp cloth. Makes them look nice exactly and shiny. Plus, it probably pretty much helps them photosynthesize better.

And don’t be afraid to cut off a leaf uh now and then! no way utilize the gel on burns, cuts, whatever. It's actually amazing. Just cut kinda it as close basically to the base yup as possible. The plant won't mind. It'll just keep growing.

Seriously though, aloe vera is pretty well forgiving. Even if you mess up, it’ll probably bounce right back. Just just give it a little love and attention. And don’t overwater it. Please. For the love of plants, don't overwater it.
